To provide the absolute best to our customers, we now offer steel upgrades to increase the thickness of the door and body of any of our vaults. Our steel upgrades include a 10 Ga Steel layer, a 10 Ga Stainless Steel layer, a 3/16″ Stainless Steel layer, and a 3/16″ AR400 layer. The 3/16″ AR400 is an abrasion resistant alloy steel, the addition of carbon and manganese coupled with quenching and tempering increases the hardness of the steel and create a durable, impact-resistant surface. The AR400 is used widely as targets at shooting ranges, to provide a continuous surface to shoot at, that won’t wear down and have to be swapped out regularly. Stainless Steel is an alloy made up of Carbon, Chromium, Nickel and other rare earth elements that make Stainless Steel resist corrosion as well as heat conductivity and increase the durability and strength of the steel. Stainless Steel is also used on aircraft for their shocks and rotors of the landing gear. This provides a strong landing gear that will hold up to the weight and impact from the aircraft landing and will prevent them from heating up and collapsing.
